Coxing

No crew is complete without a trusted Coxswain.

The Coxswain not only steers our boats to victory, but also acts as a secondary coach.

A skilled Coxswain can keep their head under the pressure of the race, whilst motivating their crew to win, using specific calls to control the boat.

Rowing is as much a mental sport as it is physical. Being able to push your crew to be the best they can be, is vital in being successful and can be the difference between a silver and a gold winning position.

Being a Cox is hard work, but they are a valued and vital part of any Boat Club.

Here at UEABC we welcome all levels of abilities, from beginner to intermediate Coxwains.

Throughout the year coxing masterclasses will be held, so don’t be shy, come along and have a go!
